Resilient against cyberattacks: German businesses rely on contingency plans

A representative study by G DATA reveals positive trends alongside organisational shortcomings
Contingency plans are well established in the German business landscape: 97 percent of companies have a basic action plan in place in the event of a successful cyberattack. This is one of the findings of the representative study “Cybersicherheit in Zahlen” by G DATA CyberDefense, Statista and brand eins. Half of the companies surveyed use technical measures to contain the incident. Only a third of those surveyed seek external support from experts. The study shows that the business sector is well on the way to achieving resilience. However, there is still a considerable need for action with regard to the necessary scope of measures.

Cybersecurity as a collective responsibility: two-thirds of German companies rely on IT security providers

A G DATA study shows that the business sector relies on service providers for IT security
Companies in Germany are increasingly turning to service providers to ensure effective cybersecurity. This is one of the findings of the report “Cybersicherheit in Zahlen” by G DATA CyberDefense, Statista and brand eins. 63 per cent of companies work with IT security providers, and almost a third (32 per cent) with a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP). The third most common form of collaboration involves industry-specific networks and initiatives. The results show that IT security is increasingly becoming a joint effort between companies and external specialists.
