With a modern working environment and forward-looking training, G DATA CyberDefense creates the ideal conditions for young talent to start their careers. To mark the start of the new training year, the company welcomed a total of four new trainees to its headquarters in Bochum. Sandro Heidorn and Nico Schlüpmann began their apprenticeships as IT specialists in system integration. Cem Dähne started as a trainee IT specialist in application development. All three will be joining the technical department in future. In addition, G DATA is once again offering apprenticeships in the commercial sector: Sedef Yasemin Yener is training to become an office management assistant.

During their apprenticeship, all apprentices gain comprehensive knowledge across various areas of the company. A varied range of tasks ensures that they can apply their theoretical knowledge directly in practice and gain valuable experience. For Nico Schlüpmann, the apprenticeship marked the start of a new chapter at G DATA. He had already got to know the company whilst on a one-year work placement and subsequently decided to undertake an apprenticeship. His transition from a work placement to an apprenticeship underlines the cyber defence specialist’s commitment to nurturing young talent at an early stage and offering them long-term prospects.

“Right from the start, we place our full trust in our trainees – giving them the freedom to contribute independently and the chance to take on real responsibility. It’s particularly heart-warming when young people like Nico say after their work placement: ‘I want to stay here and continue to develop my career. That is exactly what we hope for: that our trainees find not just a training place with us, but a home for their professional future”, says Andreas Lüning, co-founder and board member of G DATA CyberDefense.

A successful start to their training
Before Sedef Yasemin Yener, Cem Dähne, Sandro Heidorn and Nico Schlüpmann begin their placements in their respective departments, they spend an induction week getting to know G DATA. This includes, amongst other things, a guided tour of the company’s own museum and the opportunity to meet various teams and key contacts. This makes it easier for them to settle into their day-to-day work and lays the foundations for a collaborative, practical training programme.
