Learning units on AI-generated images, vishing, captchas and MFA fatigue now available
G DATA CyberDefense is now offering four new Security Awareness Trainings on AI-generated images, vishing, captchas and MFA fatigue. With these additions, the Bochum-based cyber defense company addresses topics that are relevant to all employees. In short learning units, employees receive important information and practical tips, for example on how to recognize AI-generated images or identify a vishing attempt.
Cybercriminals keep pace with technological developments and continuously come up with new tricks to infiltrate users’ systems. Currently, they misuse captchas or exploit multi-factor authentication attacks to achieve their criminal goals. AI-generated images are also becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish from real images and pose a security risk as so-called deepfakes. To ensure that employees are prepared for these current cyber risks, G DATA is providing four new courses. Effective immediately, trainings on AI-generated images, vishing (voice phishing), captchas and MFA fatigue are available. These courses are offered on a voluntary basis and can be used by employees as an additional resource. The content is regularly updated so that employees are always informed about new developments in IT security.
“To achieve their criminal goals, cybercriminals adapt to current developments such as multi-factor authentication or captchas and lure their victims into traps,” says Nikolas Schran, Vice President Sales & Marketing at G DATA CyberDefense.
“For employees and their companies to protect themselves effectively against these attack attempts, they need the appropriate level of security awareness. Short Security Awareness Trainings help to raise awareness of these important topics.”Overview of the new courses:AI or not AI – that is the questionThe AI image training raises awareness for the conscious handling of AI-generated content. It consists of three levels that build on one another and become progressively more challenging. The aim is to develop a sharpened awareness of how convincing AI-generated images already are today.
Don’t take the bait! How to recognize voice phishing (vishing)In the new vishing module, participants learn how vishers operate during an attack and how they can protect themselves and their company against such telephone-based attacks. In so-called vishing (voice phishing), cybercriminals attempt to obtain sensitive information over the phone, often using manipulative persuasion and false identities.
Protect yourself against MFA fatigue attacksWith multi-factor authentication (MFA) fatigue attacks, cybercriminals bypass additional security layers. In this course, employees learn how to recognize an attempted MFA fatigue attack and what steps they should take if they become a victim.
Beware of captchasCaptchas are part of our daily internet experience – whether in the form of distorted letters, images with traffic lights, or simple arithmetic tasks. However, captchas themselves can also pose a threat, as seemingly harmless captchas may conceal malware. In a compact microlearning unit, participants learn about the security risks captchas can pose and how to protect themselves against them.
