New training offering for employees without a fixed PC workstation
G DATA is expanding its Security Awareness Trainings with a dedicated learning plan consisting of nine courses covering key IT security topics for non-desk workers. With this step, the company responds to specific customer requirements for tailored training concepts for employees working, for example, in production or logistics environments where no traditional office workstation is available. The trainings are now available in 14 languages.
Cybercriminals do not only target executives or senior managers within a company. Employees in production or logistics who only have temporary access to computers can also become attractive targets—particularly if they fall victim to a phishing email. To address this risk, G DATA CyberDefense from Bochum now provides a new learning plan specifically designed for non-desk workers. The structured and didactically designed training program addresses typical threat scenarios and security requirements relevant to this group. Its objective is to effectively integrate employees without regular PC access into the company-wide IT security strategy.
“Cybercriminals always look for the weakest link in a company’s defenses. This can also include employees who only have occasional access to a PC or mobile device,” says Nikolas Schran, Vice President Sales & Marketing at G DATA CyberDefense.
“Especially in industrial environments where operational technology (OT) and IT are increasingly converging, raising awareness among all employees becomes even more important. The learning plan for non-desk workers closes a strategically relevant gap in the training portfolio.” Target-group-specific learning logicThe learning plan consists of nine coordinated courses and is available in 14 languages. The content follows a clear learning logic: each new course is unlocked only after the previous one has been completed. This creates a structured development of competencies—from basic information security knowledge to specific threat types such as social engineering or malware.
The training program includes, among other topics, an introduction to information security, fundamentals of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as well as trainings on phishing, malware, the use of passwords, and shadow IT.
Dedicated dashboard for maximum transparencyUsers assigned to the learning plan receive their own dashboard displaying all courses allocated to them. The aim is to create a learning environment that is as accessible and intuitive as possible, enabling quick orientation and easy access to relevant content. After successfully completing all nine modules, participants receive a certificate.
Security awareness as an integral part of corporate securityWith this portfolio expansion, G DATA reinforces its holistic approach to security awareness—independent of hierarchy levels or workplace types. The new learning plan helps organizations meet regulatory requirements, detect security incidents at an early stage, and systematically reduce human risk factors.
