Award-winning virus protection: Double test victory for Germany at Stiftung Warentest

G DATA CyberDefense receives top marks in comparison test

Great success for ‘IT security made in Germany’: G DATA CyberDefense security solutions achieved a double victory and top marks in the latest comparison test by Stiftung Warentest. With an overall rating of ‘very good (1.4)’, G DATA Internet Security for Windows came out on top among the 16 antivirus programmes tested and took first place in the magazine “test” (issue 03/2026). G DATA Antivirus Mac repeated last year's test victory with an overall rating of ‘good (1.6)’.

The top ranking was mainly due to its outstanding protection and high user-friendliness with minimal impact on system performance. This resulted in an overall rating of ‘very good (1.4)’ in the latest comparison test by Stiftung Warentest. Another plus point: the security solution from the Bochum-based cyber defence company has no shortcomings in its privacy policy. This means that the software not only offers first-class protection against cyber threats, but also ensures compliance with strict German data protection laws – an aspect that is of crucial importance to many users.
Another particularly positive aspect of the test was that the price of G DATA security solutions has not increased in the second year – a clear advantage over some competitors.

Protection rating ‘very good’

With the best protection and a rating of ‘very good (1.5)’ in the test, G DATA CyberDefense also impressed in the area of Mac security: G DATA Antivirus Mac received an overall quality rating of ‘good (1.6)’ and thus came in first place. Stiftung Warentest attests that the programme offers highly reliable detection of malware and phishing, low computer load and strong technical features overall.
